A wholedfoods diet is a diet that prioritises eating whole or unprocessed food such as delicious vegetarian food that is not heavily processed. A wholefoods diet also includes eating lots of fruit and vegetables, whole grains like brown rice, and protein sources like beans, chickpeas, tofu and nuts.
A wholefoods diet is eating foods that are as close to their natural form as possible and research is now showing that a diet based on wholefoods may be one of the most important things you can do to preventing disease, maintain good health, achieve healthy skin and achieve a high quality of life.
For some of us becoming a whole foodie has been finding a way to eat that makes us feel fantastic, nourished and healthy, especially if we have suffered from chronic illness (sinusitis) like myself for the past few years.
There are so many delicious alternatives to processed foods that are quick and easy to make and help us achieve great skin and fabulous health. One of my favorite recipes featured below, is a homemade Tofu Vegan Mayonnaise. This has been a game changer in our house, as it is so quick and easy to make, so much healthier than regular mayonnaise and a wonderful addition to any meal.
1 packet of firm tofu – water drained off
3 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon grainy mustard
1 teaspoon maple syrup
Add the tofu and all the ingredients to a blender or smoothie maker and blend until very smooth. It’s that easy and so delicious. Hope you enjoy!
