We all know that the people with the best looking skin often eat well, get lots of sleep and are fastidious about their natural skin care routine.
Avoiding sugar and fat are two things we know we’re supposed to do, however eating for your skin involves being aware of what it is you’re putting into your body. Here are a few ways to eat well and look after your skin:
Sugar is one of the worst things you can do to your skin so try to cut it out as much as possible.
Try eating a whole food diet at least 90% of the time If you can. A whole food diet is eating foods that are as close to their natural form as possible and research is now showing that a whole food diet may be one of the most important things you can do to preventing disease, maintain good health, achieving healthy skin and achieving a high quality of life. Fresh fruit and vegetables provide high doses of a multitude of vitamins, all of which are great for your skin inside and out.
When it comes to looking after your skin from the out side, at a minimum, try to get into the habit of performing a cleanse, tone and moisturise routine with natural skin care products daily. Also, try and include natural skin care products that are high in anti-aging antioxidants in your skin care routine.
Lastly, try to up your water intake. This doesn’t need to involve drinking eight glasses of water a day and can instead involve eating food high in water such as watermelon and cucumber.
Making a few changes which include eating a mainly whole food diet and having a great regular natural skin care routine in place can have a huge impact on your overall skin, so it’s definitely worth doing!
